Fasting... Hebrew... to cover over the hunger

Psalm 69:10 (KJV)     in time of trouble 10  When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.

Joel 2:12 (KJV)   to desire God's help 12  Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:

Fasting... Greek..... abstinence from food,   voluntary, or in the Church a group.

Mark 9:29 (KJV)   casting out bad spirits 29  And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

Fasting is a humble denial of food for a request (PRAYER) to God for Him to help, heal, deliverer.

You can fast:

  • a Daniel fast, to take only fruits and vegetables, water.

  • Deny yourself all food for a short period of time.

  • a Jewish fast, from 6:00am until 6:00pm.

When fasting and asking God for needs, you should spend as much time as possible praying and reading the Word of God. Sit quietly and allow God to speak to your spirit, He speaks from His Holy Scriptures.

In the Scriptures Fasting appears 17 times
