It is important to take time out of our busy days to receive a refreshing, a restoration, and a renewing. What does this mean? We will look at each word separately. Of course, we will base our answer on what God says -- we will go to His Word.
REFRESH - "To give new strength to; to invigorate; to relieve after fatigue; as to refresh the body. A man or a best is refreshed by food and rest. Exodus 23.
To revive; to reanimate after depression; to cheer; to enliven. For they have refreshed my spirit and yours. 1 Cor. 16." (https://av1611.com/kjbp/kjv-dictionary/refresh.html)
Let's look at Acts 3:19 which says, "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord."
Repent -- recognize your thoughts and your actions are not in line with the thoughts and actions of the Word of God and be converted -- be changed. Change or turn into another form. Don't stay the same! When you recognize and have a desire to change and make the decision to change -- your sins will be blotted out! God will remember your sin no more! And you will be refreshed. Refreshing will then come! What a feeling of refreshing! A new strength that He gives to invigorate and to revive! So......
Prepare yourself for a refreshing! How? Let us recognize where we are falling short. Yes, we may have been saved! But, we need to constantly examine ourselves. We are not exempt, while we are here on this earth, to be used by the enemy - the devil. If we don't take regular and accurate inspection of our thoughts, our motives, our actions, we can fall.
When we examine our thoughts -- our actions, let us change by the renewing of our minds. We can't do this without the Word of God! If we renew our minds by looking up the world ways of doing things, then we will not have changed to conform to God and His will!
Also, joining with others of like faith in the Word and Love of God helps in the conforming! So, let's come together as often as possible. We will have a more intentional gathering for refreshing Friday, March 20, Saturday, March 21, and Sunday March 22. Join us and be REFRESHED!
